Olal’s Botanical & Nature Spa

Olal’s Botanical & Nature Spa

“No matter how much it gets abused, the body can restore balance. The first rule is to stop interfering with nature.” ~Deepak Chopra~

On your right side, when you’re coming from SLEX (South Luzon Express way) upon exiting San Pedro, you’ll find Olal’s Botanical & Nature Spa.

I spotted said place while I’m on my way home from work and immediately asked Jen (my spa buddy for years) that we try it over one weekend.

It would be best if you reserve your slots especially if you’re visiting in the afternoon onwards. So we did.

From it’s name, the place upholds an array of greens, unmistakably transporting you from a city to a Botanical garden. It actually feels breezy and tranquil.

We had our usual Swedish massage for an hour, the strokes are fine, my favorite part is the special foot wash in a dim-lighted room with the leaves that I’ve been loving lately, painted on their walls. A sight to behold specifically for me.

Some spas missed to provide their clients the basics: hot towel after the massage itself. Just so to get rid of that oily feel. A hot cup of flavored tea. And probably some corteous inquiry if the service went well. Olal’s did all that. =)

So, I’m comfortable recommending them if you’re needing that massage therapy to relieve tensions and release those happy hormones. =)

Most of my weekends I spend like it’s my “Me time”. Sometimes, I have to agree that being alone can sometimes be lonely, however, I am not supposed to tolerate myself to think that way.

One of the things that helps me get by, is a good massage. So one afternoon, I came across this one Spa 15 minutes (30 if there’s traffic) from my place. The name is Rovia.

Their page says reservation is necessary in advance. And so one weekend, I was able to get one slot for an hour of Swedish massage.

The place is quiet, it felt quiet too. The soft music being played created a more soothing atmosphere. Not to forget mentioning the timeless beauty and classic feel of their “black & white” interiors. There are different accent pieces in every corner that isn’t straining to the eyes. I felt relaxed instantly.

It isn’t peak yet when I arrived, the smiling attendant: Joanne, asked me to fill up a Membership form, there are several questions there like where I do not want to be touched, medical history, etc. I appreciate it than some spas which will direct you to the room right away without any inquiry of your preferences.

After I finished filling-out said form, Joanne offered me to sit and asked me to soak my feet in this small black tub with warm water with a few suds in it. She carefully dried my feet with a towel and guided me to our assigned room.

Without waiting for her inquiry, I asked her to do it lightly and as she started doing her strokes in my back, she asked if the pressure is okay with me. With that clock on the wall, we finished exactly after an hour and she readied a hot towel and hot tea while I am resting.

For less than P500.00 and even less if its off peak, I have found now a place where to get a good massage. Those I’ve kept for years in Pacita Complex somehow deteriorated and I noticed that there is a fast turn-over of those who’ve been my favorites. I miss “Manang”, she took care of my back pains for years and I have been searching for her upon knowing she resigned because she had to take care of her sick husband.

Rovia has a cafe too though what’s only available are the drinks.

Illy is the brand that they carry for their coffee drinks.

Rovia Nail lounge and Body spa is located at Km. Canlalay ( Half Km. from Pacita-Binan Boundary) Praferosa Bldg (Beside Right Choice Thriftmart & Fabric Clean Laundry Services), 32 Manila S Rd, Biñan, 4024 Laguna

I intend to have my nails done by them too. They use my favorite paint brand: Orly and Essie. =)

Sunday Bliss… All about Massage therapy…

Sunday Bliss…
What’s beautiful about Sundays is that you are free to do anything as you please. I call it Sunday bliss.
My usual Sunday is made of simple things. I’ve come to believe that the best things in life are free. Mine is my time to be free. Free to pursue my passion. And what are those actually? To cook for my loved ones. Tend to my papa’s garden. Visit the church. A not so late breakfast (or is it brunch?) while reading the Sunday papers or a book I could not finish out of falling asleep. Some retail therapy (if budget permits! =>). Eat out with people closest to your heart. Sip coffee. Go to a mall if not enjoying nature are my usual mood during Sundays. Lastly, I normally top my Sunday musing with a good massage.
Over the years, there is a spa in our place taking care of my aching soles, tired legs, unkink shoulders, swollen wings that are usually my complaint each time I encounter my masseur.

My weekly indulgence…
Though, I’ve been to some:
Sujivana – Serenity place in Alabang…
One of my trips in Cebu…
nuat thai
We have a Nuat Thai in Pacita Complex, though the one in Libis is the prettiest. Courtesy of: http://www.wheninmanila.com/nuat-thai-libis-service-beyond-expectations-relax-without-hesitations/

Even Banahaw spa too…
The busy week falls away in a hush upon seeing myself removing my slippers to lie on my back on a squeak free bed that has a hole for you to be able to breath even if you’re lying face down. The owner of this spa had briefed her people already of each personal preferences of their customers. Mine included. They even save a balm that I so much love which they bought from Bali. The scent for me is so soothing and it definitely relaxes all of my senses literally. It is like I’m sedated and incapable of allowing negative things to happen in my mind while the masseur does her usual strokes.
You would not believe that I used to prefer male masseur than female ones. Their pressure is more balanced and tougher. It might hurt a little though it’s tolerable. This kind of pampering is truly a delight. Though of course I’ll always choose a female one.
Getting married allowed me to bond with my sisters-in-law.  My two sisters-in-law are very fond of having a weekly massage at home. They have favorite spa too within the vicinity. I was so young at that time and I feel like my body isn’t asking for a massage anyway. I just observe them each time.
After a few years, Becoming an EA (Executive Assistant) sent me to different regions in the country. What I enjoyed most from those trips I’ve had in the VisMin (Visayas and Mindanao) were lingering in the spas.
You will be surprise that the spas there are more homey and less expensive than most spas that you’ll find in the Metro.
The surroundings since they’re in the province are so quaint and the attendants are very friendly (even friendlier) and treats each customer with genuine concern.
Their Spa menu varies while it includes the usual ones. Traditional pressure point which triggers our energy flow to get stimulated.
Different strokes for different folks and still the goal is for the blood and lymphatic circulation allowing us to acquire balance. Just by releasing whatever is negative within us.
It has been addicting since then. I am not just an spectator,  and seriously, I can no longer last a few weeks without it. A massage junkie! ❤ I am wishing to try these more expensive stress relievers too:
ice cream scrub
Ice cream scrub from Devarana, Dusit Thani hotel
